What is God's plan for overcoming fear? It is not as easy as some 1-2-3 step plan. It has to do with faith, and who said faith was easy?

A trait I find in disciples throughout scripture is the recognition of being in desperate need of mercy. This sermon is about mercy.

Lee (the youth minister) and I had the opportunity to preach a sermon together. We work well together and have done this in the past. We were both convicted by Paul's message of reconciliation, in particular his call that we take up the ministry of reconciliation. The text is 2 Corinthians 5:17-19.

February is Black History Month and I was given the opportunity to preach about race and the church. This is a topic I feel very strongly about. According to Ephesians 2, the cross of Christ tore down the wall of hatred that separated different people.

Burning Bush Moments are defining moments. It is our response in those moments that truly define us. How will your response define you?

Jesus knows the old saying, "You are what you eat." He knows it is true and he tells his disciples that in order to have life they must eat his flesh and drink his blood. What in the world does that mean and how can we do it?

Do you ever get tired of praying for yourself all the time? I call those prayers "Me Prayers." I pray those a lot.
Jesus' prayer life has a lot to teach us about what kind of things we should be praying for.

There is something deep inside all of us that causes us to want to be known for who we really are, and yet we all have our mask that we wear. If there is one thing I could suggest that we do in order to have healthier relationships it would be for all of us to take off our mask.

This sermon addresses the question, "What are the qualities of a true friendship?" What are the things that keeps friendships from falling apart?

This is a short sermon that was preached during the evening service on August 6th.

There is a great line in the movie, Radio, that says, "It is never a mistake to care for someone."

In this particular text Jesus asks, "Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or kill?" If Jesus were to answer his own question I believe he would have said something very similar to the famous line in Radio.
